Welcome to my pastel art gallery. My name is Eleanor Mulholland. I am a pastel artist and I would like to share my artwork with you. If you like what you see, you may want to have a pastel painting of your own! Just contact me at my email address below.
About Pastels..... If you like pure, vivid color, you will love pastels. They are available in hundreds of colors, from the softest pastel color to bright, vivid ones, and are shaped in a stick from 2 to 6 inches long. A pastel stick is basically made of a combination of pure pigment and a binder. They are available in varying degrees of hardness. Some brands of soft pastels are pretty fragile and come in a paper wrapper which helps hold them together. Hard pastels are more dense than soft pastels and are used for drawing and for detailed work. The two can be layered to complete the painting. Edgar Degas was famous for painting with pastels. His paintings are as vivid today as when they were created. Once a pastel painting is framed, it is as permanent as an oil or watercolor and the color won't fade in the sun.
I hope you will find something of interest. Take a tour now of the Gallery by clicking here EMAIL THE ARTIST for information on having commission works done or for price and terms on unsold paintings in the artist's collection.
